Recycling

Australian Paper recognises the importance of paper recycling.

As well as being a valuable fibre source, every tonne of waste paper we divert from local landfill saves 2.9 tonnes of carbon emissions. Australian Paper supports the local recycling industry by purchasing around $20 million of waste paper from our collection partners each year. Recycled white paper, such as shredded office paper is re-pulped and de-inked and pulped for use in premium recycled office and printing papers. Brown waste paper, such as cardboard is also sourced for use in our range of recycled packaging papers and boards.

The $90 million waste paper recycling plant at Maryvale has the capacity to divert up to 80,000 tonnes of waste paper from landfill each year; that equals a saving of up to 230,000 in carbon emissions from landfill. Australian Paper manufactures a range of premium Recycled products including Reflex 100% Recycled, Planet Ark Mindful Paper and Australian 100% Recycled. These papers are all FSC® Chain of Custody certified.
