Australian Paper is proud to partner with Breast Cancer Network Australia. BCNA’s magazine The Beacon has been printed on quality paper made at Maryvale for more than 10 years and is posted quarterly to over 100,000 women and men with breast cancer, and their families and friends.
In 2017 we decided to work more closely with BCNA and turned 1.5 million Reflex packs pink all over Australia, donating 10 cents to BCNA for each one sold. We used our pack as a vehicle for BCNA to share stories from people who had been impacted by breast cancer. And we can’t wait to do it all over again through another major Reflex campaign in 2018 to promote BCNA’s valuable work. Image credit: AFL Photography.
To help businesses, government departments, schools and households make the switch to Australian recycled paper, Planet Ark has teamed up with Australian Paper to form the Make it Australian Recycled campaign. The Make It Australian Recycled campaign aims to; show the importance of closing the paper recycling loop by buying it back; increase the use of locally made, high-recycled content paper (50% or more); encourage recycling of office paper; and reduce the amount of waste paper going to Australian landfill. The major catalyst for the partnership was Australian Paper’s de-inking facility at the Maryvale Mill in Victoria. The facility has the ability to greatly increase the local production of recycled paper and has the capacity to divert 80,000 tonnes of waste paper from landfill or overseas export each year.
