Our 1295 strong workforce is primarily located in Victoria, due to the location of our mill in Maryvale, and our head office and envelope and stationery manufacturing operations located in Melbourne.
Sales and marketing staff are located in Melbourne, Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia and Western Australia.
Development and career opportunities
We value our highly skilled employees who are provided with formal development and training opportunities to assist with succession planning and enhance on the job skills. Educational support and study leave for external courses are provided in some instances.
Apprenticeships in electrical/instrumentation, boiler making and mechanical are available at our Maryvale mill, with potential opportunities for full time employment at the conclusion of the term of the apprenticeship.
Graduate and student programs are also available through the Maryvale mill’s Early Career Development program for young engineers.
Australian Paper recognises the importance of laws around equal opportunity in employment, which includes areas such as sexual harassment and bulling. We recognise and value the differences between our workforce participants, and value the skills and perspectives that these differences contribute.
We aim to provide an environment where workplace participants and others are treated fairly and with respect.
Health and Wellbeing
At our various locations, employees are offered Work Health Checks and melanoma checks, in addition to flu vaccinations. A physiotherapist is located onsite at our Maryvale mill and subsidised gym membership is available to Australian Paper employees.
Chaplaincy support is available at Maryvale, and we’ve communicated the benefits of accessing information around depression with a website link to the Beyond Blue website. We encourage our employees to participate in the annual Global Corporate Challenge, to improve their general fitness and lifestyle.
The Maryvale Friendly Society provides very useful support fraternal and financial support with a range of valuable benefits and services to onsite members and their families.
