Environmental sustainability is about maintaining and sustaining the qualities that we value in the physical environment, such as clean water and air and ensuring that our natural resources are not diminished through industrial activity.
Our environmental governance framework provides us with the guidelines to ensure the responsible use of natural resources throughout our business, including the conservation and efficient use of energy, water and materials and ensures that we responsibly manage our environmental impact.
Our mills have FSC® and AFS Chain of Custody certification and are also ISO 14001 certified and we have taken a leading role in supporting efforts to protect biodiversity.
We are continually developing and improving operations and technologies to prevent air, water and other pollution. We also use a defined waste hierarchy to minimise our waste.
Our focus on managing our resources has been to do more with less. We have prioritised the delivery of projects where the most substantial environmental impacts could be minimised.
