All of our major contracts have environmental and safety clauses and the suppliers working on these contracts are audited in regard to their environmental credentials. This is a commitment we have made under ISO 14001.

Australian Paper has committed to increasing environmental considerations in the selection of suppliers and developing preferred supplier listings based on their environmental credentials.

Our Performance
To enable us to properly manage the environmental issues within our business, questionnaires are sent to all key suppliers requesting environmental information and credentials. In 2004 we commenced formal contractor environmental and safety site reviews. Our environmental and safety professionals review all major capital investments for their potential impacts.
